All action checks use a single d12. The formula is:
Rolling a 12 is a Critical Success (Edge on next action). Rolling a 1 causes a Complication (Gale Clock ticks).
Health (HP): 8 + Grit. When HP reaches 0, you are incapacitated.
Guard: 10 + Grace + Armor bonus. Attacks must beat your Guard to hit.
Focus: 4 + Spirit. Used to cast spells. Restored by rest.
Weapon damage varies by type. The AI determines damage based on narrative context.
Spells are organized by Aspect (Sun, Moon, Tide, Storm, Umbra, Forge, etc.).
Casting a spell costs 1 Focus (or more for powerful spells). Roll 1d12 + Spirit + Prof to cast.
Your Affinity (Sunbound, Moonbound, Twilight, Unbound) determines which aspects you can learn.
The Gale Clock starts at 7 and ticks down when complications occur (rolling a 1 on a d12 check).
When it reaches 0, a major story event triggers — the Second Noon approaches.
Affinity ranges from -100 to 100. Statuses: Acquaintance, Friend, Rival, Enemy.
Romance Statuses: Neutral → Flirting → Partnered.
The AI determines when relationships advance based on your actions and choices.
Gain XP through quests, discoveries, and major story milestones.
Leveling increases your Proficiency bonus (+2 at Lv.1, +3 at Lv.5, +4 at Lv.9).
Each level may grant new skills, spells, or attribute increases as determined by the level guide.
